Hunger in Colombia
Did you know that in this day and age our world holds over 1 billion hungry people?
This means that close to 20% of all human beings are hungry and don't have any chance or hope for getting out of this situation. In Colombia alone, the numbers are more dramatic. Between 1996 and 2002 poverty levels have reached an all time high of 57%.
The following is a map of the most affected areas in Colombia:
At The Spring's Foundation we believe that we can make a difference. Many times we have come across people that are aware of the problem but think they can't help or don't know how to help. If you are one of those people we want to offer you a vehicle through which you can help.
How big a difference can we make? A BIG ONE!!! If you have ever thought that a small amount of money wouldn't make a change, think again... we have recently discovered that US$3.94 can feed a family of 4 for a week. You might be surprised by these numbers and you might also come to realize how easy it would be to help the people in need. Especially when you just spent $3.57* on a Big Mac for lunch, not including fries and a drink. Again, $3.94 can feed a family of FOUR (4) for an entire week!!!!!
